7P’s vs 5T’s
Jan 9th
So there are two methods in which to win by, and really the T’s could fit within the P’s. I learned about the 7P’s during college. It was always told to us when something we attempted to do, did not work out as hoped. We could then look back and go over why whatever it is I/we attempted to do did not work perfectly.
The T’s deal more specifically with racing than business. While you can equate both they are unique. To be the best you do need to have talent first and foremost, because no matter how much you train there is a certain level of fitness/speed to can achieve. It may only be 1-3% off a consistent 1st place finisher Macca, Lance Armstrong, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods. All of them have and would admit that while talent is important, training is even more so, because without that consistent effort and repetition, all the talent in the world will be wasted.

If it’s meant to be its up to me
Jan 13th
One of the guys that I works with is always saying this quote, “If it’s meant to be it’s up to me.” He is very successful in business. What he means by this is that if you are going to be successful it is up to you. You can not depend on someone else to make you rich.
Am I going to be rich? Yes, absolutely. I have income goals from this year, going into the future the next 5 years and then a 10 year goal. I understand that to make money you have to be motivated and passionate. I am a member of several professional organizations and a chamber of commerce. Do they bring me business? Not necessarily, but they do allow me to make connections to better serve clients.
Some people that I work with pretend to be busy and pretend like that have large amounts of activity. The corporation that I work at does not hide the amount of money people make. For those of us at the same level we know approximately how much each other makes and the amount of business we each generate. What boggles my mind is when the people that are not making money constantly sit with one another and complain.
I have only been at the company for so long, but even so I can see those that will become successful and those that will be not. Spend free-time reading and studying your industry, find ways for clients to save money, get out of your home and meet new people. You WILL NOT become successful by sitting around watching television.
Setting goals. You will not become successful without goals. So be honest with yourself. Are you genuinely interested in being successful? Have you set realistic goals for yourself? How can you develop the internal motivation that really counts? When it comes to motivation, knowing is not as important as doing.
If you associate with people that are negative and always down you will end up the same way. Associate with winners and help people, and you will become successful.
